Director's Statement

Horror has always been our specialty and our creative home, but with Hostages, we wanted to challenge ourselves by stepping out of our comfort zone and driving the narrative into the high-stakes territory of an action-thriller. Merging the dense, suffocating dread of psychological horror with the relentless, fast-paced momentum of a thriller was an incredibly fun and electrifying process for us as directors. The production was intentionally designed to leverage isolation, creating an environment that feels like an inescapable force closing in on the characters. By blending classic horror tension with the visceral, active stakes of a thriller, Hostages forces the audience to sit in the discomfort of the unknown while keeping them on the absolute edge of their seats. This film is an exploration of what happens when the slow-burn psychological terror we love meets the desperate, reactive energy of an action-thriller. Brought to life by a dedicated cast and crew, Hostages pushes its characters to their absolute physical and emotional limits.
