Director's Statement

Stop was first inspired by the alternative ending of Jordan Peele’s first film Get Out, where the main character Chris is about to finish off the main antagonist Rose and a police car shows up and he ends up going to prison. I do prefer the theatrical ending but I became infatuated with this alternate ending and was inspired to write a short based off of it. Two hours after finishing my rewatch of it and its alternate ending I had a first draft of the script finished. Two weeks later a final draft, and a month later in January of 2023 we started filming. We shot it over four days in some of the coldest weather I have ever experienced and I got to work with two of my favorite local actors, Cory Davison and Joe Casterline. They brought every bit of intensity that this script needed and I could not be more proud of the final result because of that. — Lucas Dunn
